Paekakariki Surf Lifesaving Trip

Well, the weather was not amazing, but it was good enough for our trip to proceed.  Mrs J, Whaea Liz, Mrs C, Paul and Maree all went with the Year sixes to the lifesaving option.  We were based in the clubhouse and learned all about beach safety.  this included learning how to recognise a rip, being sunsafe, and the rules you should always apply when swimming at the beach.

- Have an adult watch over you
- Stay between the flags
- Know your limits
- Never surf or swim alone
- If in doubt stay out

Rebecca got dressed as a lifeguard.  The clothes were way too big for her, but she was a good sport about it.  After this we went out to play some games.  You will see some photos of thses in the next blog post.
