Making Puff Mobiles

Today we made puff mobiles.  The challenge was to design a vehicle that would travel the furthest in 9 puffs.  For the first challenge we had an A4 piece of paper and a straw.  We were not allowed to use anything else (even scissors)  Katie and Katie and Callum won that challenge with their box shaped model making it the full 9 metre length of the room.

What were we learning?

Teamwork, measurement, science and technology, design principles and how to blow really hard.

What we noticed was that the designs that went the furthest generally had a sail or side for the air to push against.
