Our topic for this term is Summer and Summer Safety.

Today we had a visit from our buddy class.  We sang the Matariki song for Mr Rockey’s class in case they want to learn it.  Then we planted lots of seeds for the garden.  We put bean seeds into plastic bags so we can watch the germinate.  We planted sunflowers and calendulas and beans into pots and then we went over to the garden and weeded some of the garden beds.  We turned the compost and watered it as it had dried out over the holidays.

Do you have a school garden and what do you grow in it?

We had lots of buttercups growing so we checked out who likes butter?

  1. These photos are great, Room Six!! In Year 2 at our school we have some planting boxes that the children plant seeds in. Some of the things that we have planted are salad, onions, carrots and peas.
