Mrs C gave us a challenge to create a device to retrieve a balloon that had blown into a tree across a stream.  We were given 10 sheets of newspaper, 6 metres of string, sellotape and two straws.  Each group had four people in it and what a creative group of children.   Whaea Chanelle and Mrs C were blown away by the variety and resourcefulness of the children.   We had nets, levers, poles, sticky devices,  pincers and hooks.  What a wonderful effort children.  And the best thing was…..the improving teamwork and skills which we are seeing.  Lots of connecting habits in practise.  Helping and supporting each other and sharing your skills and ideas is such a powerful way of working.  Tumeke!
