Yay, today was Friday when we get together with Te Ruma Tekau, our buddy class. We were especially lucky because Matua Martin was also visiting Whaea Chanelle and he helped us with our construction as well.
Mrs. C found a pattern to make a flying machine called a zappy zoomer. We used 4 straws, 2 pieces of card and some sellotape to make our zoomers. First we decorated the card and named it and then came the tricky part. We had to sellotape the straws to the card. Easier said than done. Luckily we were with our buddies and we soon discovered that working with a partner made it much easier than doing it ourselves.
Pretty soon we were putting our zoomers together. Mrs C and Whaea Chanelle were looking to see who was working well together and they both agreed that Kody and Josh were amazing. They helped each other the whole time and tested their zoomers together to see if they worked well or needed any improvements.
Finally it was time to go and test our zoomers. We had a competition to see who could fly theirs the furthest. Tina won by a long way. She threw hers up high i the air and it glided down a lot further than anyone else’s.
Way to go Tina!
We love sharing buddy time in Room Six!
