Our Second Visit to the Life Education trust

P5090364

We had our second visit to see Harold and learned some more about how we breathe and ways that the air we breathe can become polluted or dirty.  Isn’t this an awesome photo of Jemima and Munashe with Harold and Jo.

Harold and Diver Dan went diving and told us about the clean air we need to breathe under water.  We breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide.  Our lungs are the part of our bodies where this exchange of gases from our blood takes place.

We looked at all the body parts that we use to move oxygen around our body.

We talked about the oxygen cycle again and then Harold came to talk to us.

We ticked off the Walts for our Harold visit and then it was time to say goodbye to Harold for this trip.  Thanks Harold.  We had lots of fun visiting you and we learned heaps about our bodies.

Harold has been teaching us about the air we breathe and our lungs.  Mrs C found this video to help us.

A visit to Harold and the Life Education Trust mobile classroom.

P5080274

Here we are, lined up to talk to Harold.  We are feeling pretty excited but we remembered to bring our biggest and most friendly smiles with us.

We met our teacher and listened carefully as she told us what we would be learning about.  It was all about the air we breathe, and we were pretty excited because Harold was off on a trip to Island Bay to the Baithouse where we visited last term.  He is taking a video of his visit with Dan the Diver for us to watch tomorrow.  Isn’t that awesome!

Harold is coming out to talk to us, but we have to help him think about what to take on his trip to Island Bay.  We thought he should take his sunglasses, water, towel, snorkel and flippers and his swim suit.

We had to tell him how to hold his snorkel too! Next Tam came out to show us what is on the inside of our outside.  It was just like the Dr Suess book Mrs C read to us yeaterday.

P5080289P5080291P5080292P5080294P5080295P5080296  Next we learned about the breathing cycle.  We breathe oxygen in and carbon dioxide out.  Plants breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen.

Yay, we get to visit Harold again tomorrow!
